The Future of the Arts
We started in the early 1990’s as a vision of my Grandfather and today have evolved into the defining piece of a new cultural arts renaissance for our region. The home for decades of potters, painters, musicians, and dancers, the new MANN Center for the Arts will become a flourishing visual and performing arts destination to properly enjoy, celebrate, and promote some of our greatest talents. – Chet Mann, Board Chair
Our vision of the future incorporates new spaces and uses for the building, property, event spaces, and the main theatre with the goal to build a regional visual and performing arts destination in Central North Carolina. We’re evolving our historic property into an immersive, artistic, and welcoming space for local and regional tourists, families and artists of all types.
A New Look ?
We’re rethinking our entire property and how the community interacts with the Center. From updated rooms and entrances to new social spaces and outdoor performance options, we’re exploring ideas to evolve the property into a new arts center.

NOW OPEN, the Emerging Artist Gallery focuses on supporting up and coming artists across North Carolina.
This bi-monthly rotating collection gives emerging artists an opportunity to show their work in a professional, curated show that is open to the public.
The M Theatre
Audio and Lighting upgrades in the M Theatre are already underway, offering better performance and design for concerts and stage shows.
We’re also planning historic restoration projects to elevate our look while respecting the artistic space.
Event Hall
Located on the ground floor under the theatre, the former basketball court could become an event hall with bright floors, stage and lecture capability, and space for fully catered events.
Funding the Future
You can be part of the future of the MANN Center for the Arts by getting involved in the Leadership Circle. This is a dedicated group of donors who are making significant contributions that support our arts and creative economy mission.
Leadership gifts are charitable donations that are significantly larger than average contributions.
