Job Title: Facilities Technician
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: MANN Center for the Arts, 507 N. Steele Street, Sanford, NC 27330
Position Type: Non-Exempt / Hourly
Schedule: Part-Time, 4pm to 6pm Sunday through Friday, extended hours and weekends as assigned
Compensation: $12/hour

Job Summary:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and upkeep of the MANN Center for the Arts, including its buildings, facilities, and grounds. This role ensures that the environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all tenants, clients, and visitors. Additionally, the Facilities Technician will assist with maintenance tasks and event support as needed, working closely with the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Custodial:
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors in all common areas, hallways, and offices.
- Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins regularly.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Clean furniture, fixtures, windows, and surfaces throughout the building.
- Property:
- Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor areas, including sidewalks, parking lot, and landscaped areas.
- Pick up litter and ensure that the exterior of the building is free of debris.
- Ensures physical security of the building including alarm system, doors, windows, and emergency access points.
- Maintenance and Repairs:
- Assist with repairs, such as changing light bulbs, painting, and fixing small equipment or facility issues.
- Identify maintenance needs and report them to the Executive Director.
- Tenants and Visitors:
- Respond to the needs and requests of tenants, clients, and visitors, ensuring they feel welcome and accommodated.
- Set up rooms or spaces for events, meetings, or other activities as requested.
- Support for the Executive Director:
- Provide general operational assistance to the Executive Director as needed.
- Carry out specific tasks as assigned.
- Maintain inventory of consumables, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
Qualifications:
- 1 or more years experience in custodial or janitorial work.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair work.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with tenants and visitors.
- Ability to lift and move objects as required (up to 50 lbs).
- Flexibility to assist with operational needs, including evenings or weekends
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal) is required to successfully perform essential job functions, including reading and following safety protocols, communicating with tenants and renters, and coordinating work tasks.
